Enter AccessURL, this Chrome Extension attempts to solve the problem of credentials sharing by allowing users to share the credentials without actually sharing the password. To start with all you need to do is download the Chrome Extension from the Chrome Web Store. Once installed, open the extension on the Netflix page and choose when you want the link to expire, one day, one week or never. Now to continue to click on “Create Access URL” and this is the URL you can share with your family and friends and let them access your account, of course, you can terminate the session by simply logging off from the web page.
Here is how it was done, AccessURL doesn’t have access to your username or passwords instead it relies on cookies. Suppose you sign out, everyone using the same AccessURL will be signed out too. Also, the makers of this app assure that “By Design” Access URL’s server can’t read user data and it also doesn’t have the password. Furthermore, the Chrome extension encrypts the data before it reaches the server and doesn’t give the server the password and uses AES standard for encryption. When the other user gets access to your URL the Chrome Extension fetches the password from the URL and then adds it to the Chrome’s cookie jar.
AccessURL just worked out fine for me but it does come with a few downsides, for instance, it cannot be used on Netflix app either on the smartphone or even on a Windows PC. Apart from that, this seems to be the best way to share your Netflix credentials without actually revealing the same.
