The Mi Soundbar packs in eight drivers for sound reproduction – two 20mm dome speakers to transmit high-frequency sounds, two 2-5-inch woofers to reproduce a natural sound and four passive radiators for a deep and enhanced base. The passive radiators do not emit any sound by themselves but are more passive amplifiers that add a thump to your music. The Mi Soundbar has a very subtle yet elegant look. Unlike the frame of the TVs, the Mi Soundbar is white in color with a chalk-like finish on the front speaker grille which contrasts the black frame of the TV when paired together. The design, as well as colour scheme, is reminiscent of a lot of other ecosystem products by Xiaomi like the Mi Air Purifier. Therefore, if you own one of them, the Mi Soundbar is going to blend in quite well. Talking about connectivity options, one can connect to the Mi Soundbar in five different ways – Bluetooth 4.2 which can be used to pair your smartphone or PC, S/PDIF, Optical and Line-in to connect to your TV depending on what kind of ports your TV supports, and finally a 3.5mm auxiliary input. Xiaomi claims you can set up the Mi Soundbar with your devices in just about 30 seconds time. The Mi Soundbar can be paired and used with any existing TV that you own and need not be used with a Mi TV necessarily in order to function. Given the array of ports, you can even connect older CRT TVs right up to modern LEDs. The Mi Soundbar will retail in India for a price of Rs. 4,999 starting January 16th, noon exclusively on Mi.com and across Mi Home Stores.
