The Poco X2 offers a price to performance ratio that’s really impressive. We get a very capable Snapdragon 730G chipset which can handle almost every task with ease, including heavy gaming. The IPS display produces good colors and the dual punch hole cut-outs give it a nice aesthetic touch when compared to conventional notches. The cameras are excellent in almost every lighting condition. The battery life gets you through an entire day’s heavy usage. All these factors combined, the Poco X2 offers a well-rounded experience that is hard to resist for a price of Rs. 15,999.
What are some negatives of the Poco X2?
This isn’t a negative or a con as such, but the Poco X2 is essentially a rebranded version of the Redmi K30 that was launched in China sometime back. While this isn’t necessarily bad as the package is competitive, consumers were expecting the K30 5G to launch in India as it has the more capable and newer SD 765G chipset. Other than that, a few downsides of the Poco X2 are that the auto-brightness sensor isn’t calibrated really well, the build quality is not very solid, and the phone feels slightly top-heavy while using one-handed.
Are there ads in the UI on the Poco X2?
Fortunately, MIUI for Poco gets rid of ads completely so that’s a huge bonus for anyone planning to get the Poco X2.
How powerful is the Snapdragon 730G chipset?
The SD 730G, as the name suggests is a gaming-oriented chipset and performs great when it comes to day-to-day tasks as well as gaming. We played PUBG mobile and we could achieve a constant frame rate of 40 FPS. Other activities like social media apps are a breeze for the chipset.
Does the Poco X2 run on Android 10 out of the box?
Yes, the Poco X2 comes with Android 10 out of the box based on MIUI 11 and that’s nice to see given that a lot of phones being launched even in 2020 still run on Android 9.
Is MIUI for Poco any different?
Other than the pre-installed Poco launcher, there’s nothing that sets the MIUI for Poco apart from MIUI on Xiaomi phones. There are no ads of course, which is great.
Does the Poco X2 heat up while gaming?
The Poco X2 has liquid cooling baked in which keeps the thermals well under control while gaming. We played PUBG for a good amount of time and the phone did not show any signs of overheating.
What kind of storage does the Poco X2 have?
The Poco X2 comes with UFS 2.1 storage.
What are the different variants in which the Poco X2 will be sold?
The base variant of the Poco X2 will have 6GB of RAM along with 64GB of onboard storage. The mid-tier Poco X2 will have 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage and the top-end variant gets 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Can you consume HDR content on the Poco X2?
The display on Poco X2 is HDR 10 certified. You can watch HDR videos on YouTube but for some reason, Netflix doesn’t seem to stream HDR content on the Poco X2.

Thankfully, the Poco X2 still retains the beloved headphone jack. The audio output is satisfactory as well.

Yes, FM Radio is present on the device.

Both the front and back on the Poco X2 is protected with Gorilla Glass 5.

Yes, both SIM cards can run on 4G at the same time.

The Poco X2 comes with Android 10 out of the box and looking at the support that the Poco F1 got, we should ideally be seeing 2 Android version upgrades for the X2.
Does the Poco X2 support Google Camera or GCam Mod?

Can you record 4K videos on the Poco X2?
Yes, you can record videos up to a resolution of 4K 30fps through the rear camera. There’s even a new vlog mode for cool transitions.
Can you record slow-motion videos on the Poco X2?
Yes. Slow-motion videos are supported up to 960fps.
Should you buy the Poco X2 or the Realme X2?
The Poco X2 is slightly more affordable while sporting the same SoC, but trades off the AMOLED display on the Realme X2 for an IPS LCD panel. The cameras on the Poco X2 seem slightly better, and the battery capacity along with charging speed is also better on the Poco X2. Should you buy the Poco X2 over the Poco F1?
The only area where the Poco F1 edges past the Poco X2 is raw speed. The Snapdragon 845 is a mighty powerful chipset so if performance is of top-most priority to you, the Poco F1 is still a great purchase. PUBG fans, the Poco F1 is for you. However, the Poco X2 does better in pretty much every other area. It’s built with better materials, has better and more versatile cameras, better display with punch hole cameras, and improved battery life as well as faster charging.
Should you buy the Poco X2 over the Redmi Note 8 Pro?
In theory, the Redmi Note 8 Pro has a more powerful chipset for gaming, and that’s the reason you can clock 60fps PUBG gameplay on the Redmi Note 8 Pro while it is capped at 40fps on the Poco X2. However, there are some throttling issues on Note 8 Pro during intensive usage. Also, the cameras on the Poco X2 are better and you get dual front-facing cameras with a punch hole cut-out. Both phones are really good but the Poco X2 offers a better overall experience. If your budget allows you to spend the Rs. 1,000 extra, you should get the Poco X2 over the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
If you play a lot of PUBG, is Poco X2 the right choice?
Performance while playing PUBG is quite smooth on the Poco X2. We did not face any lags or frame drops and we could clock a constant 40fps. However, there is no option for Smooth + Extreme graphics so you cannot get 60fps gameplay. For the price, though, the Poco X2 is one of the best for PUBG gameplay.
Does the Poco X2 support Fast Charging?
Yes, there is a 27W charger inside the box which takes less than 1.5 hours to fully charge the device, which given the 4500mAh capacity is admirable.
How fast is the fingerprint scanner on the Poco X2?
The physical scanner on the power button is extremely quick and accurate. However, it requires some getting used to due to the awkward position.
Is there face unlock on the Poco X2?
Yes, there is face unlock on the Poco X2, but it’s software-based and isn’t the most secure implementation out there.

No, there is just a single bottom-firing speaker on the Poco X2.

The Poco X2 has a P2i nano-coating which makes it splash resistant to a certain extent. However, don’t dunk it in water as there’s no IP rating.

Poco has released the kernel source codes for the Poco X2 today itself and seeing the support that the Poco F1 received, we can confidently say that the Poco X2 will be a developer-friendly device.
