— Rahul Sharma (@rahulsharma) December 4, 2015 The Cyanogen OS 12.1 update is expected to build several improvements to Yuphoria, and below are the most important ones listed out by the folks at YU.
Cyanogen OS 12.1 was first rolled out to OnePlus One devices back in August this year, followed by Yureka, Yureka Plus and now Yuphoria. The 12.1 update brings a host of goodies starting with a smarter screen to increased playback support that users can take advantage of on their Yuphoria device. Amongst the most important new features/updates, Live Display is something that’s pretty useful. With this, the phone intelligently adjusts the light spectrum coming through your screen based on the time of day. It increases the sunlight legibility, and at night it reduces the stimulating effect of blue light so as to not disrupt your sleep. Cyanogen claims that it enhances the performance and battery life. Also, Cyanogen has partnered with Boxer to bring calendar integration to email – handy feature for busy professionals. There’s also a new Cyanogen browser with faster page loads, improved security and overall better memory management.
Interestingly, YU recently announced that Yuphoria will be sold with stock Android out of the box, but users have an option to flash Cyanogen OS if they wish to. Many of us pondered if this was the beginning of the end of Yu-Cyanogen partnership, but they have managed to cling on somehow. The upcoming Yutopia is also expected to run the Cyanogen OS 12.1 out of the box. Currently, the team at Cyanogen is working on Cyanogen OS 13 based on Android Marshmallow, but haven’t announced the list of devices which will be getting the official support for that. We expect Yuphoria to be a part of the mix, but knowing the pace a which Cyanogen works, don’t hold your breath for the Android 6.0 update anytime soon. Meanwhile enjoy the newer Lollipop update on your Yuphoria.
